It's graduation season!

So. Today marks the 22nd year that I graduated from college. It was March 23, 1994, to save anyone from counting back. Such a long time ago! I feel old of course.

I was more excited than scared after graduation. I was raring to find a job and earn money. Thankfully, it was almost always easy for me to get hired. Whether that is a direct result of my schooling, I'm not sure. I always knew though that writing was what I loved to do. I got to do that in some of the work I landed. It always felt like heaven to produce any written work: a simple correspondence letter, a tag line, an essay, a published article, and the like (including the presently relevant Twitter or Facebook status posts). The joy is in the putting of words together and the message that is created.

So to this year's graduates, congratulations! I sincerely hope you get to do the things that interest you most now that you're in the really real world. Please take some time to offer your success to your parents, they also deserve some recognition for giving you your education. The best of luck to your chosen career!
